I read yesterday that, in their push toward the release of 'Warlords of Draenor', the next WoW expansion, Blizzard is working toward instituting a universal PvP toggle for PvE realms. [more info] Now as a guy that avoids PvP a vast majority of the time, this is an idea I can get behind. I absolutely hate trying to do a quest that results in me killing other-faction NPCs (non-flag) and some level capped douchenozzle starts hopping through my attack zone hoping I'll accidentally target him/her and flag myself for PvP so he/she can gank me. It also infuriates me when high level players roll through a low level zone, laying waste to merchants, flight path npcs, etc. But, no toggle is going to fix that one so...
Now as to Bashiok hating gnomes, I have no proof that he actually does. I do; so, I just assume everyone else does. It's easier for me that way. Bashiok does hold fast to the claim that Blizzard does not "push" us into PvP situations. He says our own actions put us there. Right. So that time I was soloing a handful of mobs and a flagged character ran through the area attack I used to keep myself alive... that was one me. Gotcha. At least he also admits to understanding our frustration in that regard. **shrugs** Community Manager win/win; find a way to straddle the line of an incredibly divisive topic. Well played Bash. Well played.
