Woody & Ted: "An Element of Truth"

Hmm, this is going to require some explanation. And I'm not exactly sure where to start. So I'll go all esoteric and just let you guys fill in the blanks with your wild imaginations.
I watched this documentary recently called King Corn, where two guys return to their roots in the Iowa corn belt, rent a single acre of land, plant corn and follow it to market. After watching the documentary and then doing my own research into the correlation between soft drink consumption and diabetes, I decided I simply have to find an alternative refreshment to Mountain Dew I consume so liberally.
Well first on my list of consideration (Thanks Taks) was Jones Soda because it is sweetened with a natural sugar rather than an artificial or chemical sweetner. But a quick look at the ingredient list made me withdraw some from my initial excitement.
After some more research I came to the conclusion that maybe I should just make my own soda. Sure it wouldn't be Mountain Dew, but with some experimentation I could probably come up with something that hits the spot. Hell, you can even order food grade powdered caffeine to toss into the mix if you want. The whole idea is to get away from the artifical colors and preservatives, adding a stimulant might not be the healthiest direction. But hey... one step at a time right?
Okay okay, I'm sure most of you don't care about this topic. And, I accept that some of you might feel I just wasted your time. But if a few of you read this and decided to give it a go yourself... mission accomplished. Consider this a gamer public service announcement or something.
Note: I'd love to hear how your projects are coming along. I'll tell you honestly, my first two attempts have been a bust.
This thread has been nerfed. The discussion is about making your own soda (or other beverages). Steps will now be taken to ensure the discussion stays on track.
