Apparently USAopoly has acquired the rights from both Hasbro and Nintendo to create and sell a Monopoly game using Nintendo iconography. Instead of buying locations, you purchase character and game elements. Game pieces include: Mario's Hat, Donkey Kong's Barrel, a Koopa Troopa Shell, a Hylian Shield, Link's Boots, and a classic Nintendo Controller. Images of the prototype board and some pieces are available at PressTheButtons.Com.

Of course, my brain never plays nice. So, I figured I'd throw in my own special twist on the concept.
Now, when I was younger, I played Monopoly all the time, that, Sorry, Yahtzee, Scrabble, etc etc etc. A few years back I purchased my mom a limited edition version of the game with gold and silver plated houses, silver pieces, mohaghany wood. So, Monopoly, on some level, is part of my life story.
But, so is Nintendo. That damn controller and I were inseperable for YEARS. So, for some company to mix both of them together to provide me with one extremely nostalgic piece of board gaming goodness... consider me sold.
The Nintendo-opoly board will be available some time this July.
