A year ago it was announced that some evil pirating bastards had hacked their way into the Valve network and absconded with the, then incomplete, Half-Life 2 source code. ~ GameSpot [ More Info ]
In a recent interview Valve assured gamers that the Steam distribution system, a proprietary direct-feed software delivery platform for broadband customers, would be "secure" ~ Chris Morris : Game Over [ More Info ]
I'd be lying if I didn't say I had my doubts.
So, from my limited perspective, it seems as though pirates have taken control of Valve, kidnapped their employees, and are now making them report inaccuracies for the express purpose of using Steam to hack our computers and steal the logins for our G-Mail Beta Accounts. Or, worse yet, erase all our supercool Minesweeper high scores.
Then again, this could all just be one large scam, organized by me, so that I can draw more pirates.
