Though I thoroughly enjoy movies like and Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm not really a comic book guy. I never have been. So I'm not overly invested in the Jared Leto version of the Joker for the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. [more info] But plenty of other geeks are. A fair share of them have even reacted with outrage.
Sure, the versions of the Joker I prefer all wear suits. But, just because he's shirtless in that photo doesn't mean Leto's Joker will spend the entire movie like that. I'm more worried about the actor than the appearance. From Jordan Catalano to the lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto has never really impressed me. But! He's an academy award winner. So, I'm unwilling to completely write him off. We'll just have to wait and see.
In my book, let's take the Joker any way we can get him.

About the comic:
Initially the comic had Ted giving a terse "No" in response. But, I wanted that rely to be more pointed and defensive, to MAKE the point. So, I sauced it up a little. Given the level of grumpiness I've seen the Jared Leto Joker provoke, it seemed fitting put put Ted's fandom at that level. The joker, I believe, is the costume Ted has donned the most over the years.
