After seven years of not telling us much of anything, Blizzard has decided to canceled their next-gen MMO, "Titan". [more info] There's been a lot of rumor, speculation, and "nothing to show you" hype. But there's been very little in the way of Blizzard confirmed information about the game's setting. My current favorite is that it was a first person shooter MMO that was so close to Destiny that Blizzard decided to can the game rather than change course.
Since news of the closure dropped, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime has done his best to elevate the company while garroting another project. That is to say he's been talking up Blizzard's dedication to quality trumping years of invested effort. If a game doesn't live up to Blizzard standards? Piano wire.
Now, I have to be honest here, news of "Titan" being shuttered didn't plus me a bit. Unlike Starcraft: Ghost, there just wasn't enough information to keep me interested in where it was potentially headed. **shrugs**
tl;dr:
Blizzard cancels Titan. What's Titan?
Update:
I'm usually loathe to link Kotaku, but they've been getting reports about what Titan was since the news released. Here's what they're reporting, though I encourage you to take it for what it's worth.
