I kid you not, I'm doing this comic in the hopes that it will convince people to stop sending me messages, emails, posts, links, etc. about Patreon. As I've said before, I know about it already. Several weeks, in fact, before the first person sent me a link. Initially I dismissed it because the GU Fancast already offers everything a Patreon campaign would, without the additional middle man fees. But, as my peers have started adopting it without complaints, I've begun to consider it more. And with the idea of people having full control of what they can offer, well I'm leaning in that direction. But, I mentioned this just a couple of writeups ago. Yet, I'm still getting messages from people asking me if I've considered Patreon. **buries his face in his hands**
So yeah, I figure a comic is the only way to solidify the following comment...
Yes, I've considered Patreon. If I decide that it's right for me/GU, you guys will be among the first to know.
For those of you that don't know, Patreon is a crowd funded, ongoing support system for content "creators" such as myself. Think of it like giving me a tip for each comic I post. But you could apply a cap per month to keep me from gobbling up all of your money if I went on a comic producing tear. If it worked, I could potentially be able to justify some of the other projects I would like to pursue.
