The Kid: "Gamers"
Posted: Friday April 26th, 2013 by

My kid loves the nerds that come over to our house to play each week. As soon as they step through the door he gets excited and starts regaling them with details of his latest gaming exploits.

Now as far as "killing guys". I don't know where that came from. I've been telling him for years that he's just "knocking guys over". I can't think of any movies we've watched where they talked about "killing" someone. It's like the word magically appeared in his vocabulary and I can't trace it or erase it. And unlike Ted I haven't embraced it. I do make sure to talk about the differences between real life and "in game" though. He plays World of Warcraft (now), Skylanders, Free Realms, the LEGO games, and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. So luckily the discussion is fairly simple.

Before anyone gives me crap, I am a gamer dad; I'm cautious about what I let him play and what I let him watch. Still wish I knew where the word "killing" came from though.
