Dungeons & Dragons: "Three Hours"
Posted: Thursday December 27th, 2012 by

It's true; during our last session, we completed one encounter. Granted that three hours wasn't ALL roleplaying and dice rolling. There were a boatload of distractions. Sure there's more to it than that, but the point is we only have ourselves to blame. We goof around and have fun. Frankly I'd rather it be that way than to be so focused on the game that it ends up feeling more like a chore than an escape.

Now, that being said, we could certainly be more efficient. There tends to be little hangups centered around figuring out a functioning strategy. As an example my role is supposed to be to control the battlefield to benefit the group. But I have to split that purpose with healing. And now, I'm also trying to stack damage on top of that because, most of the group is rolling minimal amounts of damage compared to the hit points the monsters now have. We have to focus on picking off one monster at a time or we get ourselves into trouble quick.

For the record though, if you're going to waste game time quoting a show... "Bob's Burgers" is a good choice. (The first season is currently available on Netflix.)
