Super Smash Bros. Brawl: "A Dream for Inclusion"

With the release date of Super Smash Bros. Brawl looming (March 9th in North America) and the games massive success in Japan (over 1 million units sold in the first 11 days) [ more info ], I figured it might be time for me to comment on the game.
What seems to be the single most important element of the Super Smash Bros. series' success, beyond enjoyable gameplay, is the list of combatants. A certain amount of excitement orbits news of each new character's inclusion and a certain amount of sadness nestles deep into our cockles when the list is complete and characters we wanted to see aren't there.
Now, I won't go so far as to say that I was actually hoping Bomberman and Q*bert would be included. They were just characters that were possible and might be fun to draw. If there is a character I want to see in the game, it's the dog from Duck Hunt. He should be a boss, and I should be allowed to pummel him into oblivion.
As for the Spore reference, well, you all know that I'm waiting less than patiently for that game. And since you create your own characters... why not make a furry, orange ball that hops around on two legs, has a big useless nose and curses when he's attacked by snakes, balls, pineapples, pigs or gremlins?
