Gaming News: "Not-Sir Peter"

March 12th Peter Molyneux, founder of Lionhead Studios anddeveloper of Fable, had the Order of Arts and Letters Knighthood bestowed upon him by the French Ministry of Culture. This follows his being granted Order of the British Empire status in 2005. Though this honor, like the OBE, does not grant the knighted the right to pre-empt his name with the title sir, it does recognize Molyneux's contribution to the arts and literature for his efforts in the game design arena.

To sum up the comic, it's a 100 Years War joke. Yup, I'm dredging up thousands of years of bellicose history for no better reason than to poke at my pal Peter Molyneux. And it should be noted that he's not always crazy. He just gets loopy when it's time to pimp one of his games. 200% promises and big claim, 80% follow through.
I won't say whether these kinds of honors are deserved, but I will say that I've enjoyed so many of the man's games that he deserves something... a really big pizza with topics of his own choosing or a $50 gift certificate to Putt-Putt Golf and Games perhaps.
