EverQuest: "I left the stove on!"

Ever realized you probably just made an unwise decision, and scraped the bottom of the barrel for an excuse to get out of it?
When those kind of things happen to me, I like to make up off the wall excuses, one's that you'd have to be silly to actually believe. Stuff like:
I gotta go! The carpet just started making weird noises.
I forgot... I need to take my car to the dealership to have the windows realigned.
CRAP! The couch is on fire.
etc etc etc
Sooo... let's hear it...
What's your best/worst/favorite excuse?
