I wasn't expecting to post another comic so soon after the last, but when news came down that Microsoft had begun moving to purchase Activision Blizzard... I just had to.
In a deal clocking in at an industry shaking $68.7 Billion and scheduled to take effect 2023, Microsoft would be acquiring an inventory of games that can only be classified as legendary. I mean World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, Spyro, Candy Crush, and more. The Xbox & PC Game Passes are going to be damn near a gaming requirement.

12 subsidiary studios. 10,000 employees. And, when the deal closes, we get to watch Bobby Kotick walk away from it all.
And THAT, not the sale, is the point of the comic. I don't mind at all that Microsoft is buying Activision Blizzard. But, Bobby Kotick leaving? I honestly think, other than Ted and Myself, Kotick has been in the comic more than any other "real" person. I'm fairly certain that, in every one of them, he has been the recipient of my ire. I would venture to say, deservedly so. He's the reason GU had a "wall of douchebags". (Which I was also on.)
I'd never wish the man any ill will. But, I'd also not lie to you guys and tell you I'm not happy to see him go. I just hope he uses this opportunity to ply his experience in a different industry. So I'll wish him luck in his next NON GAMING endeavor.
And NO, I'm not dancing in celebration. I just needed to be doing something interesting in the background. I opted for "doing one of those TikTok dances". This one, as best as I can tell, is called The Box.
