Gaming News: "Decisions"
Posted: Wednesday April 10th, 2013 by

For the second year in a row EA has been voted as the worst company in America by readers at the Consumerist. [more info] The publisher took 78% of the vote in the final round of voting over Bank of America. After all the snark in the gaming community in response, Peter Moore making a ridiculous public comment blaming the voting, in part, on EA including LGBT characters in their games.[more info] The Consumerist countered with a reasoned explanation of EA's inclusion. [more info] And then our friends over at Dorkly turned the whole discussion on it's ear - Dorkly: EA's Reponse To Being Named 'The Worst Company in America'.
(Note: Dorkly is a humor site. This letter is meant to be a jab at people who actually voted for EA. Peter Moore's real comments are linked above.)

Now, I'm not going to get into it because I avoid discussing politics (or anything related to it) like the plague. But, it seems to me the results were skewed by voters with their own agenda completely ignoring corporate actions, failures, etc. **shrugs** That's the way of things on the internet I guess. Blinders and all that. Suffice it to say, I don't think EA is the worst company in America. I don't even think they're close.

You may remember Mark Jacobs from his time at Mythic. Well now he heads up City State Entertainment and their next project is the spiritual successor to Dark Age of Camelot. The game is called Camelot Unchained and City State is kickstarting it. At the time of this posting They're a little over halfway funded with 21 days to go. If you were a fan of DAoC, I'd recommend visiting the project. Here's the link:

The GU Diet Bet Group is moving forward and you only have a few more days to join. This is how it works: you and everyone else in the DietBet chip $50 into the pot, everyone who loses 4% of their body weight by the end of the bet (around 4 weeks) splits the pot. This means, if you lose the weight you get at least your money back. I won't be participating myself, but I will be following everyone's progress, encouraging them where I can, and adding GU goodies as rewards.
Here's the link to the DietBet:

If you would like to join the bet but still have some questions, there's an open Facebook group where you can post your questions, comments, and concerns:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/GUDietbet/

Good luck everyone.
