Gaming News: "Peers"
Posted: Thursday October 25th, 2012 by

"We think of ourselves less as a peer to our good friends at Take-Two, Activision, and Ubisoft and more as a peer, quite frank, to the service companies like Facebook, Google, Apple, and Amazon" say EA's Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore. Seems the company has been working for years now to shift their offerings to to be more inclusive with a stronger customer service backbone. [more info] Mr. Moore claims this has nothing to do with EA having been dubbed "the worst company in America" by The Consumerist. Believe it or not, I think he's telling the truth.

To build up the necessary infrastructure and tell their actual peers "you need to be doing this too" Ea really would have had to begin working on it years ago. I've not bought anything from EA in recent memory, so I can't speak to the level of customer service. But I can tell you that, back in the day, when I had an issue with my Rockband Guitar, EA made every effort to resolve my problems as quickly as they could. I honestly can't complain about how they treated me, nor how quickly they got replacement products to my door step.

Anyone have any RECENT customer service experiences (good or bad) with EA?

If you were thinking about getting someone cutom GU work for Christmas, there's no time to wait. To be certain your commission is done and delivered and in time for the holidays, you've got to get in line now. It's going to get increasingly more difficult to garuantee a mid December delivery date, which costs more money as "rush" is added to the description.
