Gaming News: "Small Draw Angst"

I'm not typically one who cares about the world records set by aging men playing 30+ year old arcade games. But even I get amused by the cult status people like Billy Mitchell achieve. If you don't know who he is, google him and come back. It's not worth dedicating a massive paragraph to. Recently he reclaimed his world record holder status on Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. in the same day. [more info]
Well, I told Stormhaven about the Mitchell thing and suggested we do a comic with him bribing Donkey Kong to take a fall. The comic is a direct result of the "first thing that popped into [her] head", the idea being to smoosh together two events that have nothing to do with each other to "maximize" ticket sales! (The only thing I changed was to swap out "EQ" for "SOE".) Since there didn't seem to be a good reason to include the Fan Faire in the mean, I asked Stormy about her Fan Faire angst. She explained that it wasn't angst so much as it was surprise that they "still have enough players to warrant a 'faire'". I did clarify that the Fan Faire is not EQ specific, but rather covers all SOE titles.
Now, I haven't been to a Fan Faire in a long time. So I have no idea what the attendance numbers are like. Maybe one of you could shed a light on that for Stormhaven and I. But, I have made my gamer pilgrimage to Funspot Arcade in Laconia NH if that adds any arcade-related credibility to this writeup.
