Gaming News: "A better boxer."
Posted: Thursday June 15th, 2006 by

Game-movie-hack director, Uwe Boll, has issued a statement inviting his most vocal critics to come and box him on the set of "Postal". Uwe, over the course of two days, will fight 5 opponents for 3 rounds each. Challengers must be male between 140 and 190 pounds and must provide at least two examples of their anti-Boll commentary submitted in 2005 before the theatrical release of BloodRayne, his most recent movie-adaptation/flop. Fellow directors, Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino, have been listed as two of "the most eligible candidates". It is unclear if they would be considered seperate from the main competition or if they would take the place of two "winning challengers".

I admit, I'd like to put my fist in this guy's mouth. Not because of his bad movies, but because of the reputation he wantonly smears across ALL videogame-to-movie adaptations AND the assanine things he says. But, my guess is that Uwe is not just some hapless director going out there to get pummeled. He wouldn't make the offer if he didn't feel he could give better than he gets. A later report at Gamespot confirmed this notion of mine. [ more info ]

And, I don't think it's much of a stretch to assume that he's a better boxer than director. Hell, without any formal knowledge or training, he's probably a better geophysicist than he is a director. And when it comes to crawling into the ring with him... he appears to be short ann stocky. And his head is obviously made of dense stone, impervious to creative thought as well as the blows of would-be boxers. Unless I miss my guess he's probably going to be a bear in the ring.

Still... I can't wait to watch the matches. Apparently they're going to be made available on the net. Here's hoping someone on the list is a Ringer and gets even with Uwe for ALL of us.

The two guys in the comic are supposed to be Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino.
