The Life of Ted!: "Mailbox"

Since there's so few people left to piss off, I'm going to try my hand at something new and different with GU. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. If it does work, well... then the mailbox changes everything.
This Wednesday marks the 13th year of GU. In that time we went from a handful of readers to tens of thousands down to thousands. I'm not wounded by the decline. I can see the faults that were mine. And, wooo boy were they dandies. I can also see the faults that were -not- mine, people and companies who threw off my sense of what I was doing and stomped flat my ability to produce a high quality comic. I resist change to the comic now because I have this weird idea of what my "brand" is. There are things that have remained fairly constant since the beginning. But if GU is to grow, I have to let loose the death grip I have on what I feel is it's purpose. I'm not sure what that means for GU. It might be good; might be bad. But, it would be stupid of me of to "stay the course".
To sate your curiosity, no this isn't something I decided last night. It's something I've been thinking about for weeks, almost as long as I've been considering closing GU. I just figured I'd wait until we were on the doorstep of the site's 13 year anniversary before I pulled any triggers.
Well, I suspect some people will want to speculate as to where this is all going. So, I'll leave you to that. You'll be free of interference from me on the forums. I'm going to try to stay hands off so as to not shoot down any ideas or accidentally give anything away.

My apologies about the missing strip Friday. I'm not even sure how that happened. I didn't even realize I'd missed a comic until yesterday afternoon. I'll make up for it with a new comic tomorrow.
