Dungeons & Dragons: "The Metal Door"

Let me start with a little back story: The D&D 4e group was tasked with finding an innkeeper's cousin. He and a few of his buddies had disappeared near a silver mine a day's hike away from the inn. We wrestled through goblins, fire beetles, kobolds, and eventually a very young white dragon. In the final room there were still no dwarves to be found, but there was a door.
Citrine (Taks) had found a metal key on one of the many kobold bodies, but Xanthian our resident flower planting hippie elf had the better chance of detecting traps and such on the door. So, as per the comic, he opened it. And there behind it were the dwarves we were looking for (to the best of our knowledge). Upon seeing the dwarves, and without saying a word to any of the rest of us, Xanthian re-closed the door.
Given the hours of heckling he'd received from me leading up to that point, it was a brilliant piece of role-playing. And I absolutely loved it... out of character. It was a great way to end Night #2. I just wish out next available night wasn't 3 weeks away.

So if he's opening a locked door, why is he holding up a bow? Well, I mentioned this to someone in a PM but I don't think I'd shared it with the rest of you. If you look at the characters who have been repeated in the D&D comics, you probably notice they haven't moved at all. This was supposed to be me hinting at them being represented by miniatures. Xanthian's miniature has him holding a bow at the ready. Just thought I'd share.
