For any of us who might have thought that EA would buy Harmonix after Viacom announced their intention to sell the company, we were wrong. In an interview with Bloomberg, EA CEO John Riccitiello likened the idea of buying Harmonix to catching a falling knife saying, "more people have been cut trying to catch falling knives than have benefitted from getting the timing exactly right". Though I contended that maybe EA buying Harmonix would be for the best (for no better reason than to piss off Bobby Kotick), I really didn't expect anything different out of them. Rhythm games are struggling. Why invest more money in the genre hoping it will bounce back? Ultimately, I think Riccitiello's knife catching analogy is pretty accurate.

Just so you know, if you're in the US and planning to buy prints, original artwork, etc. for Christmas, all orders need to be in soon. USPS says that for US shipments, to ensure a package arrives in time they have to be post marked December 20th. If you're hoping to get a commission to give as a Christmas present, anything coming in after the first week of December stand virtually no chance of being done in time. So don't wait; get your requests in now.
