Gaming News: "Losing Executives"

A month ago, word spread like wildfire across the gaming news-verse, that bouncer types had shown up at the Infinity Ward offices and that two key executives had been fired for insubordination and breach of contract. When then smoke started to clear, those two executives, Jason West and Vince Zampell, sued Activision for wrongful termination then proceeded to sign with Hollywood management company CAA.
Today two more staff members disappeared. [more info] Please note "staff members" despite the comic saying "executives". These two guys, Todd Alderman and Francesco Gigliotti, were not execs. There were the lead designer and lead software engineer respectively. "Executives" just sounded better within the context of the comic. I didn't figure you guys would mind the discrepancy too much. Alderman had been with the company for over 8 years. Gigliotti had been there for over 7.
Now, I've not played any of the Call of Duty games; but, I accept on reputation (and sales figures) that Modern Warfare 2 was a fantastic gaming experience. With four key members of the staff now gone in less than a month, I have to wonder what the prospects are for the franchise going forward. I'm also curious as to whether these four will hook up post Infinity Ward and develop another piece of incredible IP.
