Metro 2033: "Preparation"

A while back when I got stumped for a comic idea I would pick a game at random and find something about it that amused me. I figure, meh, no time like the present. So I hit up MetaCritic to see what was spotlighted.
Currently that would be Metro 2033. And just like the comic states it's set in the subways of post apocalyptic Moscow in 2033, twenty years after ssomething turned the earth's surface into "a poisonous wasteland".
As I read through the game details, nodding sagely at the predictable settings, I thought "Set in Russia? Crap". Now I don't have anything against Russia. (Well, except for their silver medal men's figure skater being kind of a douche because he didn't win gold.) I just thought that it would be funny if the protagonist went through a checklist of nasty without issue, but scoffed at the simplest thing. Kind of like sitting down to eat food at McDonald's and refusing the drink because it has high fructose corn syrup in it. Just saying.
