Last week, Hawk at AppleGeeks posted a link to a numerical logic puzzle called Su Doku. I've been smitten with it ever since.
Explained simply, you have a 9 by 9 puzzle box divided into 3 by 3 sections. Each section must contain the numbers 1 through 9 without repeating and each 9 square row and column must have numbers 1 through 9 in it without repeating. Each puzzle box has clues in it and, based on the number of clues provided, each puzzle box is ranked from Easy to Evil.
There aren't any mathematical requirements to play the game. It's purely deduction and logic. So, no adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing. Just plain ol' "If this row has 1,2,3,6,9 in it, then 4,5,7,8 belong in there somewhere".
Sure that may be ,an overly simplistic explanation. But, the real definition is in actually playing it.
So yeah... I hope some of you guys get as big a kick out of it as I do.
