Guild Wars: "Grass Collision"

So, while the World of Warcraft servers were down yesterday, I installed and started playing Guild Wars. And, I'll admit, there are aspects about it that I really dig. The graphics for one. The scenery, armor, characters, mobs, etc are very nicely rendered and, for the most part, animated.

I also like the quick travel system. Though I'll admit, I didn't pay any attention to the "click any map marker to travel there" on the map until this morning when I was scrounging for screenshots and it over simplifies the game a bit.

But, what drives me absolutely bonkers is the pathing and collision issues. At one point, I got so stuck the game actually shut itself down so it could boot me back to one of the cities. And, as the comic indicates, I found areas of impassible collision that made absolutely no damn sense. If a string of 30 mobs hadn't been on my tail, I guess it wouldn't have been an issue. But... strings of 30 mobs that refuse to stop chasing you is pretty common place in the game.

So yeah. My first day of Guild Wars didn't go all that well. So, I'm going to give myself a small break, and come back to it with a fresh mind. Don't want to be TOO unfair.
