Last week, pre-announcement low-level shade was present in every article I read about Apple doing away with iTunes. Of the five articles I read last week, four of them had the word finally in the title or in the article itself. And, I'll admit, the software was so pervasive and so annoying for so long that, I emitted an audible "Ha" at the news. But, let's not forget, iTunes changed the way most of us consumed music. It deserves a reverent nod at it's passing.
Here's the thing though. This is a zapping in name only. In actuality iTunes is just being split into three separate, more focused apps with the launch of Apple new OS: Catalina.
