EyePet: "Beware the Cute"

I was reading Destructoid this weekend and stumbled across a game coming to the PS3 called EyePet. Now I'd not heard of the game before but it uses the PlayStationEye camera peripheral to give you "the experience of owning/playing with a pet without the mess".
The problem is that the thing is easily as creepy as it is cute. So in checking out the galleries, trailers, blog posts etc. I came to the conclusion that this thing is probably evil and does evil little things behind your back, like pantomiming the ways in which it plans to kill you while you sleep.
Then again, maybe it's just me.
