The Life of Ted!: "Ted's Enthusiasm"
Posted: Tuesday December 9th, 2008 by

Sitting in a job interview, even when you're infinitely qualified, is never quite comfortable. And when I'm feeling a little nervous I tend to ramble. Apparently Ted has the same problem. Unfortunately that's just not the best way to get hired.

More frustrating though is getting the "you're over qualified" speach. When I was first fired, before I committed to doing GU full time, I went out in search of jobs in other fields. I got that over qualified crap almost every time. So? If I'm over qualified, then I can do the damn job. I wasn't asking for more money than they were willing to pay for the position.

Prime example...
The first interview I went on was for a local tshirt printer, they needed someone to do custom artwork, art file cleanup for print, and occassionally fill in on the printing floor pressing and pulling shirts. They looked through my portfolio and told me I was over qualified. I was awe stricken. If you're looking for an artist, is it possible for the artist to be over qualified? Seriously?

So yeah I guess you can see where today's discussion is heading right?
Over qualified? Spill it.
