Woody & Ted: "Old with a Lawn"
Posted: Wednesday September 13th, 2006 by

As we discussed the other day, placing the blame on customer service and technical support isn't exactly accurate. In most cases what they can and can't say or do is defined by higher ups. And they certainly aren't given the freedom to initiate in-game changes such as "bug/exploit fixing."

But, the community rarely sees it that way. Because GMs, tech support folks, and community relations people are the point of contact for the community, they're often saddled with the responsibility, whether the belief is mistaken or not.

This is a lesson I've learned in my years doing GU. But, when the feeling is that they're burying their heads in sand, then that's what needs to be said. If it's accurate or not, it gets people talking and answering questions. THAT is the purpose of GU. But, I'd be remiss, if I didn't clear the air some on all counts.

Basically, you're not alone in feeling like you're not being listened to.

Sorry for the late comic, I'm a little preoccupied. There just seems to be 800 people that need my attention for one reason or another. Travel plans for a convention, missing checks, buying/selling/financial agents all clamouring for attention.

There's no telling when the full color will be done. Again Sorry.
