Here's another example of stretching the truth for the sake of a comic. The Kiddo has seen me play a bit of Mists which, inevitably, leads him to ask if he can "play the green guy". Well today Taks and I decided to let him give it a go. So she sat down with him and created a new guy on my account. He made all the decisions right down to naming him Snarlaac. (Which is what he calls the Sarlaac from Star Wars despite my attempts to convince him otherwise.)
So the mistake I made wasn't about letting him play Grek. The mistake I made was completely forgetting the Free-To-Play version of WoW. Sure it caps him at level 20, limits him to 10 gold, 100 points in a skill, chat options, etc. But that's all he really needs to enjoy the game. Not to mention, he can play Snarlaac without tying up my account.
Since I broached the subject, please feel free to tell us your "Kid playing [insert MMO]" story. Can't wait to hear the old school EQ corpse run from hell stories. There's got to be a few.
