Woody & Ted: "Why is it always a fight?"
Posted: Friday May 5th, 2006 by

The response to the last sketch day was such that I figured we'd give it another shot. Kinda a proof of concept to potentially stream videos of me working, putting tutorials on the site, etc.

So everyone can watch/participate, I'll start inking, coloring, etc. at noon PST. The first steps should move pretty quickly. But the image is a bit more complex than last week so coloring may take a little longer.

If there are specific things you'd like to see during the project, please post them. I'll do my best to do detail shots and explain as thuroughly as possible.

The whole process usually takes far less time. But, saving out each step, and explaining what I've done here takes so much longer. The result? The comic on a Sketch Day is an all day event. **grins**

Now as far as the content of the comic is concerned...

You know how there's that one thing in the house that never gets done (when you have a roommate, spouse, live in companion) because each of you are waiting on the other person to do it, and neither person really wants to? Invariably it becomes a disagreement. And when you live with a character as dynamic as Ted, that disagreement can be a significant event that takes more time and is more stressful than having actually DONE the task in the first place.

That's how it is with dishes with me and Taks. Though we've never had a disagreement over it. I may wash my hands 30 times a day, but I don't like them to get all wrinkly. And, my manliness is compromised by the mere thought of wearing bright colored rubber gloves. Most of the time though, I honestly intend to get the dishes washed in a timely fashion. I'm just let myself get so easily distracted. Taks seems to understand though... thank goodness.
