Steam Link: "The Zapper!"

Seems the folks as Valve have decided to move away from the Steam Link hardware in favor of the Steam Link App.

So, I guess this isn't really a Zapper moment. Not really. I mean, the hardware hasn't failed. Valve has nearly sold out of them; they're just not making any more after their current stock is gone. And, moving to the Steam Link App makes far more sense if I'm honest. But when have I ever skipped and opportunity to drawn flies around the ol' Zapper?
Speaking of the ol' Zapper... do you guys remember what happened to dying games BEFORE the Zapper? It's a deep dive. I might have to offer up a goodie of some kind to the first person that finds and links it here.
