I've dug through my notes, email, pop culture timelines, and google searches; I'll be honest here, I think this was just an excuse for me to draw Spiderman. It's also quite possible that this is a reference to pre-release screenshots of Scars of Velious armor. I'm not saying I thought most of the Velious armor skins were ugly, but...
