Late wednesday evening, members of the Gaming-Age Forums were treated to the revelation that somone at Ubisoft had mistakenly dropped 2 Gigs worth of unannounced game assets and media on Ubisoft's public FTP site. And where Ubisoft has expressed displeasure over the situation, vowed to take steps to prevent similar issues from occuring again, and initiated investigations into the leak itself, many cynical gamers have dismissed the notion that it was an accident.

I'm undecided on whether I believe the leak was accidental or not, but Ted's views on the matter are clear: it was no accident. In the end there's nothing really unexpected to be found in the list of unannounced titles, pretty standard sequel fare. But where viral marketing (such as accidental leaks) are nothing new these days, it's usually not assets for UNANNOUNCED games that get "mistakenly dropped in a public FTP area".
And if you don't know what Ted's referring to... google it. Though I may have to proclaim those of you that do not need to google the phrase "an official geek". It took an additional comment about the DiVinci Virus for Taks to catch the reference. So, she's not a complete dork; but, 2 + 2, you know what I mean? **grins**
I talk about it more after someone lets the proverbial cat out of the proverbial bag. And, though each download will, apparently, make Ubisoft more and more grumpy, you can probably google the "leak"ed assets as well.
I mean, the list of games include: Assassin's Creed, FarCry 2, Lost, Naruto, Prince of Persia 4, Splinter Cell 5, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc. So, it might be worth a look. **shrugs**
