EverQuest: "Abashi vs. Warriors"

And here is the exact point GU grew into the role of player advocate, community influencer, and unapologetic editorial cartoonist. Abashi, the wooden marionette (with Verant/Sony pulling his strings), was our community manager, the face of our disgruntled mouse waving.
To give credit where it is due, Time 'Drysart' Fries had been drawing Gordon "Abashi" Wrinn as a sock puppet in his comic, Evercrest. I intentionally lifted the core concept of Abashi being controlled, or little more than a mouthpiece, so there would be some general continuity in his portrayal. This wasn't 100% fair to Gordon. I can admit that now. At the time though, I was pretty frustrated and I was nowhere close to alone in my sentiment.
