The FAQ section is finally up. It doesn't have a ton of answered questions, but it has the ones I get the most.

The guys over at Penny Arcade did a little name dropping in their sunday news post, and provided me with a good number extra visitor's.
I just wanted to post a "Thanks!" and tell you all, if you haven't been to Penny-Arcade.Com, I suggest you go. They are, without a doubt, one of the largest on-line comics. Oh and did I mention funny and well drawn? GU to Return 11/28/00... ( November 27th, 2000 )
1 computer case, 256 Megs of RAM, and a 40 gig hardrive later, GUComics is ready to return. Everything is back up and running and tonight will be the first time I really have to sit down with the strip and bring you something that was originally slated for the 25th. **sighs**
And, as far as I can tell, the strips might have to start being black and white for a while as I don't have much time to produce them in the evenings anymore. This isn't certain yet. But if it is the case, I hope you all understand. Grey T-shirts... ( November 21st, 2000 )
As per the demands of the visitors, All t-shirts are NOW AVAILABLE IN ASH GREY!. This is the only other color t-shirt offered by CafePress.Com.

Not very long ago, I added a new section to GU. But, it kinda got hidden in the "Nerf Necros" T-shirt stuff. The new section is the Coloring Book coded by Eric Harshbarger. I drew the strips, colored them, and put them online and still enjoy playing with this thing. ENJOY

T-Shirt Vote Results
As stated above "Nerf Necros!" won the t-shirt vote with 22%. It should be noted that the book the Necro is reading CAN NOT be used on the t-shirt due to copyright laws. The name "Hammy Butter" will be substituted in its place. Who were the runner ups? Competition was stiff, as you can tell by 22% of the total vote being enough to win. 25 different t-shirts were voted on, spanning the entire archives from the first strip to yesterday! But on to what I promised... (12%) 9/22 - "Drixie: Candy Ass" (11%) 8/16 - "A_Giant_Rat: Twink!" ( 7%) 8/31 - "Medding!" ( 5%) 9/18 - "Bard Thong Song" & 8/28 "Clown Warrior" ( 4%) 7/17 - "Go Fish." & 9/1 "Two Guys: Catheter" NOTE: The other 52% of the vote were t-shirts with 2 votes or less. 44% of the voted-on t-shirts only received 1 vote. Other News theColoring Book theColoring Book has been added to GU's list of things to do. So now you can go and color some of your favorite GU strips On-Line. Site Redesign The site will be getting a major face lift soon. It may even be going down for a day or two to accomodate the change. It was my intent to re-design the site before it was released by Everlore, but you know how it goes. Panels for Sale? In response to the dozen or so email I have received regarding this topic, I think I will be selling some of the Black & White panels I have drawn for GU. I'm not sure of the dynamics of the whole thing right now, but the fans have been asking for it so who am I to say no? If you would be interested in purchasing "original" B&W panels email me at Woody@GUComics.Com. Right now this is still up in the air... it IS NOT a definate. Animated Mondays! I've been going over this in my head, and I think I would like to start posting Flash Animated GU strips ever other monday or so. Then again... As per the request of people posting to the Forums, you the visitor will pick the next t-shirt! And all you have to do, is email me the date of the strip you'd like to see be made into your next favorite body covering. The strip date with the most votes wins. You've got this week ONLY. The t-shirt will be made this Saturday (11/4).

As of the 19th of October, GUComics is officially and affiliate of Everlore. And, man have they been busting their hump to get me up and running. I appreciate all the time and effort they've put into this; so, I'd like to thank Robert and Wes and everyone else over at Everlore & Obsidian Tech.

I have recieved emails from more than a few of you asking if I entertained ideas for strips. And, the answer is yes. If you don't mind handing over the idea, I don't mind considering it.
I'm not here to short-change anyone, I have a book full of ideas of my own, but hopefully this site has a long road in front of it... meaning eventually... I will run out of ideas, or get stumped. And if your idea is one of the ones I use, you'll share the "by line" with me at the top of the strip. You can submit ideas to me at Woody@GUComics.Com with as much or as little information as you want. I have been emailed just the punchlines and I have been email sketches. It should be noted however that I may or may not use your sketch as a departure point. Last thing! If I do use your strip, I will let you know when it will appear on the site and attach a copy of the image that will be posted. GUComics was met with a warm welcome of overwhelmingly nice comments and reviews. There were some "naysayers", but when is there not?
Stats taken from theCounter.Com says that over 6690 unique visitors came to the site, raking in a whopping 31000+ hits. We can only hope that this continues and maybe with some "word-of-mouth" becomes a larger daily number. I'm also looking forward to the eventual opening of the Forums to visitors, as it will let me see first hand what you guys think. Stick with me! There's more to come, and I take strength from you all. Thanks for making opening day at GUComics a success. |
