Yesterday Nintendo announced that players would be able to "experience" Super Mario Bros. "like never before... in full 1080p HD". Today that claim was dialed back, edited on its website to say simply "in high definition". [more info] The Wii U is capable of 1080p support. It's designed to do so. Other titles will be offered in 1080p. But rather than ask why Nintendo would reel in their boast, I'm left asking, uhmm... who cares?
Seriously, it's fun to play a Super Mario game however Nintendo gives it to us, but the straight up truth is that a LOT of us would be perfectly content to play it in 8-Bit. Well, at least I would. Am I alone in this?
Recently one of Taks' derby leaguemates fell during scrimmage, dislocating her ankle, and breaking both her tibia and fibula. The medical bill is excessive enough, but she also works as a waitress. With multiple surgeries ahead of her and not being allowed to bear weight on it for 10 weeks after that, it's going to be a while before she can get back on the job. That means she's going to need as much help as she can get until then.
