TheKid loves Transformers. Right now he's really only in the realm of the Level One stuff. But still, he learns how to transform them with only a very little bit of help from me in the beginning. With that in mind, Taks bought him the new action shooter, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
We don't shelter theKid from video games, but he hasn't really played non-Kinect games on the 360. This is due, in no small part to his hands not being big enough to manipulate the controller. So I was trying to show him how to play with the controller sitting on the desk. When that didn't work, I played the game for him, following his instructions as best I could. Unfortunately... being 4, his instructions were word for word repeats from in the game. Warpath giving me crap for being too close to the action.
So what of the game? It's pretty, if a bit too liberal with the "shiny metal". It's fun, but having "transform" tied to the same control stick as "move" is frustrating for a hamfisted player like myself. Everytime I start running -weet-oot-oot- I'm a freakin' space truck stuck on a baricade. I didn't get very far in the game because I kept encouraging the kiddo to have another go at it. After his bath time though he was too focused on his new Bumblebee transformer to go back to the game. If I get more time to play it later, I'll pass along more impressions. Until then... Fall Back!
