Member of the Board of Trustees for the Center for Early Education and the Havard Westlake School, Chairman of the Committee of Trustees for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Chief Executive Officer of Activision Blizzard, and now Board Member for one of the largest, most well known brands on the planet, Coca-Cola [more info], how many directorial positions does one man need? Apparently, Bobby "take all the fun out of making video games" Kotick is trying to find out.
As always I don't begrudge Kotick his success. He's obviously got the right ability set to make money for himself and others. That makes him perfect board member material.
So how does this new position affect his role at Activision? And for that matter what impact does his position at Activision have on his role at Coca-Cola? Are we going to see in-game ads from the soft drink giant? Are Modern Warfare and call of Duty going to move Mountain Dew to Mello Yello? Are we going to see Coca-Cola start treating us as nothing but walking ATMs like Kotick treat us as game consumers? I just don't know.
Good or bad, it should be interesting.
