The Zapper!: "Guitar Hero"

So Activision has decided that development on Guitar Hero is too expensive to make a profit and has canceled work on future Guitar Hero titles and is disbanding the the business unit associated with the game. DJ Hero and Tony Hawk games are in amongst the "yeah not now" cuts as well. Previously announced DLC will be released but there's not going to be anything new added after the end of this month.
It might be a bit dickish of me, but all this means to me is that we're left with the superior product anyway: Rock Band. I won't be so bold as to say RB isn't next. But at least for the time being, the right faux band rhythm game survived.
To the 7% of Activisions workforce that's getting canned behind this, really sorry. That part sucks.
