I wanted to leave you guys with a question to carry you through the weekend. But I wasn't overly sure what it would be. I mean, anyone can ask "what's the worst game" or "what's the best game". But I think it takes a bit more thought to decide what game you play when your lifebar is almost empty.
Now sure, in the real world if the planet was about to be destroyed it's highly unlikely most of you would spend your last hour gaming. So, we have to suspend that disbelief a little bit. In the comic I picked a popular game because I knew it would stir some folks up. But the Sims is absolutely NOT how I would spend my last hour. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what game I would go with. Would I go for standard casual fair, something I knew would at least keep me entertained? Or would I go for the challenge, a game I've not done well with before? Or would I just settle into an old favorite, letting nostalgia sweep me away into oblivion?
I'm probably going to catch some flak for this, especially considering yesterday's anger at Blizzard. But, I'd probably spend my last gaming hour fishing in World of Warcraft.
MMOs have shaped the last 12 years of my life. WoW has been the MMO I always return to, the graphical style I prefer, and the place I'd most likely spend my last hour surrounded by other people doing the same thing. And fishing? Well... that casual aspect is what draws me to most games. Besides I still need almost 2000 fish for that silly guild achievement.
Alrighty, I've spoken my peace. Let's hear yours?
