Raptor Guts: "Zombie Interns"
Posted: Monday August 3rd, 2009 by

I knew I wanted a depiction of the zombie interns to be the next panel in the comic sequence but my planning was piss poor. Yesterday was the last day of ConnectiCon. We had to pack up and travel the 2 hours or so to Lowell. Get settled in. Have Dinner. So on and so forth.

It was midnight before I really got to start working on the comic. Which -of course- means there was no way I was going to have the full color image posted in a timely fashion. So for now the color flats are up. I'll start working on the full color version asap.

Now, to address the text in the comic...
The progression of this particular story arc seemed natural enough to me even if it's a bit wacky. But it didn't make much sense to destroy the world Ted exists in just to get to do comics about zombies. So the interns needed to live. But at the same time, it's not really a zombie story if it can't spread beyond folks with a Project No Thumbs chip. So the closest approximation I can make to what we're looking at is "angry gamer rabies".

If you've ever played at a giant LAN party, you've probably seen it first hand. Two groups of gamers just finished playing against each other. Something happened in the game that pissed one group off. They start yelling at the other group. More groups of players take sides on the issue despite not being directly involved. And the next thing you know they're all beating the crap out of each other with their keyboards, and flailing mice like maces to provide a significant mid range attack.

Ahhhhh LAN brawls. Is there anything better? Except maybe Zombie Interns?

UPDATE: Full color images now posted.
